Detroit-Superior Bridge & Subway - Cleveland, OH

Many people are unaware that Cleveland once had a subway. The tunnels stretch out underneath the West side of the city and Cross the Cuyahoga River on the underside of the Detroit-Superior Bridge then dip back down under the city streets towards Terminal Tower.

Every summer the Cuyahoga County Engineer's Office opens the old subway tunnels to the public. It is a unique opportunity to see a part of Cleveland that many do not even know exists. The walk across the lower level of the Veteran's Memorial Bridge (Detroit-Superior) provides one of the most amazing views of the city that you can find.
