St. Joseph - Cleveland, OH

St. Joseph Byzantine sits in a residential neighborhood on the city's East side. The stained glass has been removed, the copper roof stripped, and the floor and pews torn out. What remains is a hollowed shell with frescoes adorning every inch of the vaulted ceilings (at least the parts that don't have holes in them), that look down on you to remind you that this place was once a beautiful house of worship. The damage to this structure caused from years of being exposed to the elements, is probably more than it can withstand. Large cracks in the bricks and mortar crawl up the exterior of the church, making any attempt at restoration expensive, if not impossible.
