Coast Guard Station - Cleveland, OH

It was an adventure getting out to this place in the middle of winter, but once we were inside it was a little disappointing. The building has been hammered by Lake Erie winters for years. Even while it was in operation the building had a hard time fighting through the winter months. Water pipes always froze and burst, which is what eventually led to the Coastguard moving to their new location on the East 9th Street pier, leaving this station to rot.

Currently there are plans to renovate the building and use it as a trailhead museum for the Towpath Trail.
